What is JADS?

Founded in 2012, the Jordanian Association of Dental Students (JADS) is a voluntary, non-profit organization aimed at empowering dental students across Jordan through scientific, medical, and voluntary work. About JADS:

Our goal is to empower dental students through various medical, voluntary, and cultural initiatives, and to engage them in community service and humanitarian work that benefits the national community. Position Responsibilities:

Medical Awareness and Screening Officer

Organize medical awareness events, focusing on both general health and dental care.
Coordinate World Oral Health Day campaigns with the IADS Prophylaxis Committee each March.
Host global awareness events, such as Mouth Cancer Action Month in November, Blue Wednesday, and Breast Cancer Action Month in October, aligning with WHO and FDI announcements.
Prepare a list of educational materials, including presentations, brochures, and videos, ensuring all content is scientifically accurate.

Scientific and Research Officer

Organize scientifically oriented lectures and events.
Collaborate with professionals to hold workshops for dental students.
Provide guidance on postgraduate studies and international examinations.
Facilitate international dental research programs in collaboration with the IADS Scientific Committee and host webinars led by Jordanian professors.

Training Officer

Work with the IADS Training Officer to coordinate international and regional training events.
Promote IADS training initiatives to provide opportunities for JADS members to train and become trainers.
Organize local training events covering various fields, including SOR skills, administration, and event organization.
Represent JADS at IADS Training Committee meetings.

Human Rights Officer

Organize fundraising events and seek sponsorships to support charitable campaigns.
Coordinate events and campaigns focused on human rights issues.
Celebrate international days dedicated to human rights.
Organize Ramadan charity campaigns and the "Shetana Dafi" winter campaign.

Social and Extracurricular Activities Officer

Organize extracurricular activities and sports events.
Plan social events to foster networking among dental students.
Coordinate field trips and stress-relief activities during events.

Social Media and Editorial Officer

Manage JADS social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and the official website.
Engage followers with regular posts, polls, facts, and competitions.
Keep JADS members updated on events via WhatsApp groups.
Establish a yearly magazine for JADS and promote events through various announcements.
Write articles for magazines and newspapers about JADS activities and achievements.

Journal Club Officer

Recruit and oversee journal club members and attendees.
Schedule and monitor meetings, ensuring a productive environment.
Organize sessions to enhance research skills and article comprehension for participants.

Exchange Officer

Collaborate with the IADS Exchange Officer and national exchange officers worldwide to implement exchange programs.

Our mission is to empower dental students across Jordan through medical, voluntary, and cultural activities. We engage students in community service and humanitarian work to benefit society. JADS is also a proud member of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS).

Available Leadership Positions:

President

Position Responsibilities:

President

Chair general assemblies and executive committee meetings.
Direct the work of the executive committee.
Serve as the principal official representative of the association in relations with governments, dental professions, dental schools, organizations, and the media.
Review and approve administrative, financial, and press reports for all association activities.
Submit an annual written report on the association’s activities and provide recommendations for the upcoming year, in collaboration with the General Secretary.

Vice President

Support the President in directing the work of the executive committee.
Act as the second official representative of the association in relations with governments, dental professions, dental schools, organizations, and the media.
Oversee internal policies, communication, and engagement among association members.
Assist in planning and organizing major events that align with the association’s objectives.
Mediate conflicts within the association, ensuring a healthy and cooperative environment for all parties.

General Secretary

Serve as the secretary of the general assembly and executive committee.
Prepare meeting agendas and reports for the executive committee meetings and general assemblies.
Manage the association’s member database and calculate member scores.
Process membership applications and ensure all paperwork is complete.
Update the constitution, membership cards, and member profiles in the General Secretary folder.
Create certificates for JADS activities.
Submit an annual written report on activities and recommendations to the general assembly.

Treasurer

Serve as the custodian of all association funds and securities.
Receive, hold, invest, or disburse funds as directed by the executive committee, in compliance with the constitution.
Provide sponsorship and work on fundraising events for the association.
Sign all receipts, cheques, and banking instructions (co-signed by the President).
Maintain financial records supported by legal documents and valid receipts.
Submit monthly financial reports to the executive committee.
