About us

The Jordanian Association of Dental Students, JADS, is a voluntary non-profit organization established as a National Association under the Jordanian Law, it is registered under the ministry of health and ministry of social development. It was founded in August 2012 by dental students in the university of Jordan, it started with 7 members, the aims were mainly to empower dental students across Jordan through all kinds of medical, voluntary and cultural events in the region and world-wide, to involve students in community, cultural and humanitarian work. Today, 11 years later, more than 200 students are registered as members, from both the university of Jordan and the Jordanian university of science and technology, JADS grew to become the station students head to in order to boost their skills, unleash their hidden talents, integrate into the dental community and form connections.

Empowering dental students through all kinds of scientific, medical and voluntary aspects locally, regionally and internationally is our major goal under which many subheadings fall

Promote the cultural, sport, and extracurricular activities among members

voluntary work is one of the cornerstones of this association, dental screening, refugee camp visits, dental awareness campaigns are held regularly throughout the year.

JADS provides scientific guidance and teaching students of Dentistry through training, and organizing forums, seminars and conferences

april 2011

the idea of JADS was founded by Dr Osama Afaneh, along with few of his colleagues

January 2012

JADS board consisted from only 7 members, the founder and the cofounders, all of them studied in the university of Jordan

2013

JADS started expanding, the members went to the Jordanian university of science and technology in the city of Irbid, and started to promote the association there and accepting new members

2014

JADS became more known, different awareness, humanitarian and scientific events were held, a major event was children awareness day at the city of Aqaba, at the Islamic charity association and at the children's museum

2013

JADS was exposed to the international association of dental students(IADS) for the first time, members from Jordan participated in the IADS YDW world dental congress in Italy and Turkey

March 2015

First MYM: March 2015, it was the first time Jordan hosts an event for the IADS, students from more than 10 countries joined, it was the kick off for Jordanian students internationally and from there on, JADS became an active delegate in the IADS
